Since the early 1980's, plastic bags have been a faithful companion during our shopping experiences; however, it has recently become popular to blame them for a variety of our ecological problems. Beyond paper or plastic we now have a third option for bagging our purchases, reusable bags. This third option, along with the perceived ecological damage caused by plastic bags, has lead to talks of banning their use. While our current overuse cannot be denied, this outright rejection of plastic seems a knee-jerk reaction. The purpose of our site is to prove that plastic bags should not be banned because their alternatives are either more environmentally harmful, lower the quality of life of consumers, or are economically impossible to supply.
